3. My straps have brown stains that cannot be removed. What are they?

The most likely suspects are sun-tan lotion which, among other ingredients, contain a red or yellow color additive. Left untreated, the sun evaporates the liquid from these lotions, and “burns” the color into the strap. The same effect may come from common rain water, which contains a small amount of dirt. Because these stains cannot be removed, it is highly suggested that you follow our recommended cleaning and maintenance schedules. 4. My furniture has teak wood accents. Is there anything special I need to do to maintain them?

That depends. Teak will naturally weather to a soft grey or patina color over time when exposed to the elements. This process could take up to a year depending on your climate. If you desire this natural finish, do nothing to your patio teak furniture. Applying a teak oil will add to the natural transformation of the weathered look. If you wish to maintain the original color of your teak, apply a commercially available teak wood sealer once a year. If your teak has already weathered and you wish to restore the original finish, apply a teak wood bleach solution with a soft brush. Be careful not to get bleach on your fabric. Or, you may lightly sand the teak with a fine grit sandpaper. Whether you bleach or sand, follow up with an application of teak oil. Teak oils and teak bleach should be available at most home improvement or hardware stores.

5. Can I leave my patio furniture outdoors in the winter?

Tropitone Furniture is intended to be used outdoors. In milder climates, your patio furniture can be left outdoors year-round. Each piece has drain holes built into the frame to ensure water will not build up and freeze causing bursting. However, if you live in a severe climate, it is best to store your patio furniture indoors during extremely cold or wet seasons. Additionally, we recommend you close your patio umbrellas during high-wind situations. Tropitone does not recommend the use of vinyl table covers on its acrylic or solid surface table tops. Heat can become trapped between the patio table top and the vinyl causing the table top surface to warp.

6. Can I get replacement parts for my Tropitone Outdoor Furniture or Basta Sole Market Umbrellas?

Yes. Tropitone offers replacement glides, caps, cushions, slings and many other parts. Basta Sole has built its reputation on ease of part replacement. Contact your Tropitone Dealer for further ordering information.

7. Are Tropitone Outdoor Cushions waterproof?

Tropitone outdoor cushions are water-resistant. Our outdoor cushions are constructed of fabrics containing UV and Mildew Inhibitors. Additionally, each cushion is constructed of a mildew-resistant core of self-draining fills, many of which are then wrapped in a water resistant covering. Not much water will enter into the cushion, but what does, will quickly evaporate – not mildew. We do not recommend submersing your outdoor cushions or allowing them to lie in standing water. Also, do not put your Tropitone Outdoor Cushions into the dryer. Standing a cushion on its side will help it drain faster if it's been submersed.
